Joaquita Martin, ACP is the owner/manager of med discovery+ llc.  Joaquita began  working in respiratory therapy 30 years ago, earning her Associate of Applied Science degree and the title of Registered Respiratory Therapist by the age of 21.  She worked in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and home health organizations over 17 years in Virginia, Texas, and Alaska providing intensive, supportive, and palliative modalities of respiratory care to all ages of the population from premature infants to the elderly. 

The United States Air Force brought Joaquita's family to Alaska in 1998, and she enrolled at UAA to continue her education.  After completion of an internship with the Alaska Workers' Compensation Board in 2003, Joaquita graduated with honors with her Bachelor of Science in Technology and a paralegal certificate.  She found that with her medical background, workers’ compensation and personal injury law provided the perfect venues for the most effective use of her education and training.  Joaquita is currently the only paralegal in Alaska with the Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) credential in Workers’ Compensation.

Since 2003, Joaquita provided paralegal support for workers' compensation and personal injury cases.  Her passion is applying both her legal and medical knowledge in the discovery process to facilitate the expedient and equitable resolution of all manner of injury claims.
